PIZZA EXPRESS OPENS AT HARBOURSIDE

Developers Crest Nicholson Regeneration today announced that Pizza Express has opened a 190 seater restaurant at its mixed use Harbourside development in Bristol.

This is the latest opening in a long line of prestigious lettings at the £350 million waterside development, which comprises 16 acres of residential, leisure, retail and office space adjacent to Bristol's burgeoning city centre.

In contrast to reports of a market downturn, investors continue to take space on the historic Harbourside, where blue chip companies such as HBOS and Hargreaves Lansdown will rub shoulders with restaurants, retailers and residents alike.

Deborah Aplin, managing director of Crest Nicholson Regeneration, commented: “The Pizza Express deal further cements an impressive line-up of operators at Harbourside, which already includes Marks & Spencer, Ibis, Gala Casino and Fitness First.

“It comes as no surprise that Harbourside is continuing to thrive in spite of the current economic outlook – this is a truly unique location that can't be beaten in the South West. I'd encourage any operators with an eye on this region to come to Harbourside for a closer look while there is still space available.”

The Pizza Express brand, which was launched in 1965, has become a favourite with British diners who can choose from over 335 restaurants across the country. The new Harbourside restaurant, which has 80 alfresco dining options, is likely to experience high footfall with residents and visitors flocking to this area of the city to take in views of Bristol's floating harbour and visit iconic tourist attractions such as the ss Great Britain. Over 200,000 visitors flocked to the new Harbourside area during the recent Harbour Festival, where Crest Nicholson Regeneration sponsored a brand new Dance Village attraction.

New Chinese restaurant, Zen, opened recently and the bat chain Living Room is expected to open in October.
